Former Super Eagles defender,Taribo West, has joined the league of those praising Nigeria’s 2-2 draw with Mexico on Saturday in USA.
Two goals from Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez, helped 10-man Mexico come from behind to salvage a 2-2 draw against the Super Eagles.
Taribo said that if the Super Eagles can put up such performance against the North American champions, then they can excel in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers on June 5 and 12.
“If the Eagles can put up such a performance against a big team like Mexico, it means we can be confident that they will claim maximum points when they play Kenya and Namibia in the World Cup qualifiers,” Taribo said to the Punch.
“The new boys in the team gave their best and I believe with the guidance of the senior players, the Eagles will win their World Cup qualifiers and give a good account of themselves in the Confederations Cup in Brazil,” he added.
The Super Eagles will on Wednesday play their first World Cup qualifiers against Kenya, and will next week play against Namibia.
